Activating M4P means taking a sustainable strategic direction
The second P of the 4P Method (M4P) is the planet. It is useful to specify from the outset that the icon of the earth here refers to the living world. This global perspective is expressed via 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 1985 by 193 countries. To this day, the SDGs remain unknown to nearly 80% of people, and this, so many years after their adoption. Each of the SDGs is fully part of this roadmap which is the only universal reference framework for sustainable development (SD).
On the one hand, the world of SD is a complex universe. From the beginning of our conversations, companies often tell us that they don’t know where to start. How can we do something useful and contribute to a better world while still benefiting from it? It’s not easy to combine responsibility and profitability. On the other hand, while a majority of people still mainly associate SD with the environment, M4P participants are often pleasantly surprised to discover that hunger, education, health and collaboration, to name a few, are among the 17 SDGs. This great diversity of avenues certainly offers an avenue for each company to express its commitment to SD based on a challenge that really interests it.
It should be remembered that the M4P starting box, where participants have previously identified their personal values and those of the company, is followed by the “Planet” module. It is at this stage that we carry out an analysis of the company’s impact on each of the SDGs. It is precisely at this critical intersection that the initial exercise of M4P personal values reveals its full strength. In fact, by aligning the organization’s values, with ideally a maximum of 3 SDGs relevant to the positioning and corporate culture, participants find the motivation necessary to build a mobilizing and energizing action plan. Two essential ingredients for successfully completing their ESG (environment, social and governance) commitment.
It is always with satisfaction that we witness the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs who recognize the importance and opportunity to align their strategies in a coherent and measurable way according to the extent of the shift towards SD. In addition, we are always delighted to see entrepreneurs who, as a result, discover the strategic value of Good4.Global (G4G) support, which aims precisely to reposition the company, its brand and its mission in an axis where both profitability and responsibility issues converge.
The 2nd P of M4P certainly allows for this global awareness, but by highlighting the importance of local action, because considering issues on a large scale is often a source of eco-anxiety. The name Good 4 Global alone fully reflects the importance of acting locally to transform globally. This is why the G4G team has taken on a mission to mobilize each community where the program will be deployed and of which G4G Outaouais is the epicentre of this movement. Our vision is to make meaningful every small gesture that is within reach and which, by the law of numbers, adds up to make each local community more harmonious and prosperous. At the same time, the G4G movement, which is inclusive and always constructive, carries the hope of a global impact.
Building a sustainable world is a necessity, not an option! This is why activating M4P means taking a sustainable strategic direction via a SD action plan which, because it is compatible with the company’s values, carries the potential for sustained commitment. Ultimately, G4G allows you to quickly reposition your organization and generate a return on investment and a lasting and measurable positive impact in the community.
